Statement

Art to me should be fun and enjoyable and the same goes for the act of making it as well as in the act of looking at it. Art should be captivating and thought provoking. It should awaken something within those who look upon it and create some form of an experience for them much in the same manner as the experience I had while making it.

When I work, I act instinctually and impulsively; allowing the piece to reveal itself to me as I work. The making of art to me is a journey of the self. This act enables me to open up and reveal to myself, and the world, aspects of who I am whether they are contradictory to my nature, question it, or expose it for what it is or what it may not be. Each piece is a product of myself however they do not necessarily depict who I am, but they are reflections of and responses to myself and the world around me. They grow forth from within my own being, regardless of their content and often gruesome appearance, they are of me in some way or another and allow me to learn more about myself.

In short, each piece is built upon a dialogue and is a summation of that conversation.
